MyClassicGarage will be kicking off the new car season with their first auction attendance of 2013: the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction – their most premier event.
The auction will be held January 13-20 at WestWorld of Scottsdale, Arizona. Over 1,000 classics, exotics, muscle cars, hot rods, resto-mods and more will cross the auction block at no reserve during the 42nd annual automotive lifestyle event.
MyClassicGarage will have a booth setup at 9i promoting their 2013 giveaway car – a 1970 Hemicuda that you can win December 24, 2013! Two iPads will be available to signup on spot. You can also signup online at www.MyClassicGarage.com.
Last year’s Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale saw sales of more than $92 million! Top bid went to a 1948 Tucker Torpedo at an astonishing $2,915,000. Coming in at number 4 was a 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing.
Another Gullwing will be up for grabs at this year’s auction. This particular 1955 Gullwing was purchased new by Clark Gable at Merecedes-Benz of Hollywood, CA. Gable ditched the standard wheels for the racing Rudge knock-offs the car wears now. Expect to see high bids for this vehicle.
Other notable cars is this 1969 Boss 429 and 1986 Porsche 959 Prototype. The Boss has 13k original miles and contains one of the last rare 820 S Code NASCAR engine cars built, KK 1460. It has been featured in numerous magazines like Hemmings Muscle Machine July 2008, Mustangs and Fords, and Super Fords. It has also been featured in five books including Mustang Milestones by David Newhart.
The Porsche 959 is one of two running prototypes and one of only four survivors. The 959 project began with a goal of 200 production cars. Twenty-nine were created as prototypes and tested for three years before the project was ended without a detailed explanation. This is one of those cars. A world-class sports car, and it can be yours at this auction.
If you can pull yourself away from staring at the many cars, MyClassicGarage will be handing out free posters Thursday January 17th, and they will have four experts from the MCG Expert Panel at the booth at 2 PM EST. to answer all your classic car questions.
